Victim identified in Highway 401 transport collision near provincial border

SOUTH GLENGARRY – Provincial police have identified a driver killed in last month’s collision between two transport trucks on Highway 401 near the provincial border.

SD&G OPP say 26-year-old Rishab Sharma of Brampton, Ont. died when one rig collided with another – both in the eastbound lanes near the Ontario-Quebec border.

The other driver was not hurt.

Both trucks were engulfed in fire by the time South Glengarry firefighters arrived on scene just before 5 a.m. on July 26.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
