COVID-19 Ontario Update: December 8, 2021

As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Public Health Ontario reported another 1,009** cases of COVID-19 (VAX: 421 none, 22 partial, 502 full, 64 unknown), bringing the total to 626,321. That’s a 0.2 per cent increase in total cases since Tuesday. Of those, 607,926 are resolved (97.1 per cent) and 10,044 people have died (eight more deaths than Tuesday).

There are 333 people in hospital (all hospitals reporting), 155 in the ICU and 97 on a ventilator. The number of tests performed is 20,048,551 (38,502 more than Tuesday) and results are pending for 19,212.

Ontario has administered 24,150,789 vaccine doses (74,325 more than Tuesday), 11,306,219 fully vaccinated.

**Peel (48), Toronto (124), York Region (50) and Ottawa (92) account for 314 of today’s cases.
