CORNWALL – While there isn’t any snow accumulation in the forecast, the conditional parking restrictions in the City of Cornwall start tonight.

Conditional overnight parking restrictions come into effect at midnight.

As of Nov. 15 (Monday), you can’t park on the street overnight if there’s snow forecast for the area which would leave more than 5 centimeters (2 inches) on the ground.

The overnight hours are 1 a.m. until 7 a.m.

These less-restrictive rules are in effect until Dec. 15 when an all-out overnight ban is in effect until the end of March 2022.

New this year, the city has also launched a set of boutique parking permits, such as overnight parking service in two municipal lots (behind Kastner’s and next to the police station on Montreal Road) and 24-hour parking permits.
