CHESTERVILLE – North Dundas firefighters in Chesterville are hoping to raise $2,000 today (Thursday) for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Volunteer firefighters from the Chesterville station will be at Queen Street and County Road 7 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. collecting money from drivers.

But if you don’t have any spare change in your console or wallet to drop into a firefighter’s rubber boot during the “Fill the Boot” event, not to worry. Flyers with QR codes will be handed out to make an online donation.

As of last night, the Chesterville team had already raised $225.

All the money goes to programming and services for Canadians affected by neuromuscular disorders.
