SD&G – Three SD&G hospitals and a care center will receive a combined total of just over $4 million to address operating budget challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Most of the money from the Ontario Progressive Conservative government announced Friday – just over $3.1 million – is going to the Cornwall Community Hospital.

Winchester District Memorial Hospital is getting nearly $577,000 while Glengarry Memorial Hospital will receive nearly $228,000.

St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center is also getting just over $178,000.

The funding increase is between 2 and 3.3 per cent to the base funding for each health care facility each received in 2020-21.

The money was part of the Ontario budget, which promised $1.8 billion in additional spending on Ontario hospitals for the 2021-22 fiscal year.
