MARTINTOWN – A woman seriously hurt in a Wednesday morning crash between a truck and an SUV on County Road 18, west of Martintown, is improving.
“Her condition is better than it was first diagnosed. She’s just recovering in hospital right now,” Const. Tylor Copeland told Cornwall Newswatch this afternoon (Thursday).
The crash on County Road 18/20 just after 10 a.m. involved a truck and an SUV. The woman was the lone person in the truck while two people were in the SUV. The SUV occupants were not hurt in the “intersection related” T-bone collision, Copeland said.
Asked why the collision closed the road for approximately eight hours Wednesday (it reopened around 6:20 p.m.), Copeland says, if the crash is deemed “life changing or potentially life altering,” a traffic collision investigation team has to come to the scene and reconstruct the events.
So far no charges have been laid.
County Road 18 was closed at Cemetery Road and further west at Delaney Road, while County Road 20 was closed at Glen Falloch Road.
