CORNWALL – Police are looking for three suspects involved in a home invasion in Cornwall.

City police say three men burst into a home near Bergin Avenue and Race Street around 8 p.m. Thursday night (Oct. 15) and demanded money from the resident, who was alone.

One of them had a gun, police said.

The trio – all dressed in dark clothing – ran away from the scene along Race Street.

CPS spokesman Stephanie MacRae told Cornwall Newswatch the suspects got away with a quantity of cash.

“At this time, it is believed the victim did not know the men involved in the home invasion,” but it’s believed to be an isolated case, MacRae said.

Still, police say this serves as a reminder to keep your doors and windows locked and to report any suspicious activity.

They are asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area around the time of the crime or had webcams recording around that time to call Detective Const. Dave Langlois at 613-933-5000 extension 2779.
