MORRISBURG – South Dundas councillors have come to a consensus on what will be on the refurbished water towers in Morrisburg and Iroquois.
A committee of council reviewed six different designs on Thursday (Oct. 8) and settled on white towers with the blue South Dundas square logo along with the town names “Morrisburg” and “Iroquois” wrapped around the tank.
Initially gone will be the Canadian Tire logo on Morrisburg’s tower and the Indian head on Iroquois’ but the door is not closed on adding something to both towers in the future.
Exactly how it will be put on the tower – paint or a vinyl wrap – hasn’t been decided.
The township is currently doing a request for proposals (RFP) to refurbish the towers.
CAO Shannon Geraghty says he will contact the City of Brockville to see how they have done their water tower.
“We’re looking for a good job that has some longevity in it. It doesn’t have to be the Cadillac. But if the Cadillac pays for itself then it’s always worth looking at it as an investment,” Mayor Steven Byvelds said.
