INGLESIDE – A motorcycle rider led SD&G O.P.P. on a high speed chase along a stretch of County Road 2 near the South Dundas-South Stormont municipal border Monday.
The police officer pulled the eastbound motorcycle over near Upper Canada Road around 1:15 p.m.
But moments after the bike stopped, the driver, who was carrying a passenger, took off with the police SUV in pursuit.
With a busy afternoon and plenty of traffic on the two lane highway, the cruiser deactivated its emergency lights shortly before Ingleside before it turned north on Dickinson Drive.
At least three other cruisers were seen coming west from Long Sault, presumably looking for the outlaw biker.
East Region O.P.P. tweeted around 3:45 p.m. that the motorcyclist was last seen heading west on Highway 401.
