CORNWALL – The City of Cornwall is closing selected public facilities for three weeks, starting next week, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The city says the Benson Center, the arena, walking track and meeting rooms at the Civic Complex, the meeting room at Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services and EarlyON Centers (English and French) are closed on Monday (March 16).
They will remain closed to the public until Sunday, April 5.
The Aquatic Center will close as of 10:30 p.m. tonight (March 13).
Events at the facilities will either be cancelled or postponed and refunds or credits will be issued, the city said.
With the Cornwall Civic Complex and Benson Center closures, it has also meant the cancellation or postponement of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Spring Home and Leisure Show, the Harlem Globetrotters, Women’s Day Show and Seedy Saturday.
Municipal offices and services will be remain open, but the city is urging people to conduct business by phone or email instead.
