CORNWALL – If you block overnight snow clearing or park your car in a fire lane, the fines for doing so are going to get quite steep.

The City of Cornwall is raising many of its parking fines across the board by $5 or $10, effective Monday, Feb. 3, 2020.

Parking at an expired meter or not paying for parking at an electronic machine is going from $20 to $25.

But the fine for obstructing snow removal is doubling from $25 to $50.

Parking in a fire lane will be a $100 ticket next month, up from $50.
