TORONTO – The president of the Ontario Secondary Schools Teachers’ Federation says members will stage a one-day walkout next week.
In a news conference Thursday afternoon, Harvey Bischof says high school teachers will be off the job on Wednesday, Dec. 4 as part of escalating their work-to-rule campaign, which started Tuesday.
Bischof says their current tactics are “having no impact on the tone or substance of negotiations” which have been going on the past two days.
The union says it’s given the province the required five-day notice.
Bischof says the walkout may not happen and “may be preempted by reaching a tentative agreement” before then.
More to come.
