INGLESIDE – The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after some sort of fight or struggle with SD&G O.P.P. early Monday morning.

Police were called around 5:30 a.m. for a mischief complaint on Dafoe Road, northwest of Ingleside, where they were confronted by a 65-year-old person.

Three specialized O.P.P. units arrested the individual around 3:30 p.m., who was hurt during the arrest and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

The O.P.P. notified the SIU which has invoked its mandate.

SIU spokesman Monica Hudon told Cornwall Newswatch, the man was treated for serious injuries at hospital.

The SIU may have more details tomorrow (Wednesday), Hudon said.
