CORNWALL – The City of Cornwall has set a date to hear from the public on its wood-fired burning ban within city limits.
The city will told two information sessions on Tuesday, Oct. 8 – one at 10:30 a.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m. – at the Benson Center.
City council had planned on banning wood-based open fires, such as fire pits and Chimeneas, but backpedaled after fierce public outcry.
A number of councillors admitted they had made a mistake in the process by not consulting the public before moving ahead with the wood-fired outdoor burning ban, recommended by the city’s fire department.
The city had not yet said how the public feedback sessions will be run.
