Curling’s best hit the ice for the Shorty Jenkins Classic

CORNWALL – Two dozen curling teams will be hitting the ice at the Cornwall Curling Center, starting today (Wednesday), for the 23rd Shorty Jenkins Classic.

The 2019 edition will see teams from around the world compete in a round robin for a $59,000 purse.

Some of the big names on the women’s side include Jennifer Jones and Rachel Homan. Brad Gushue, Kevin Koe and Glenn Howard are among the notables on the men’s side.

This is the fifth year the event has been held in Cornwall, after it moved from Brockville.

It runs through Sunday (Sept. 15).
