CORNWALL – A problem with construction on Sydney Street has meant the Cornwall Public Library will be closed for the rest of the day (Tuesday).
The library was closed this morning to allow workers to connect the water supply to the building, which was originally scheduled to be done in time for a 12:30 p.m. opening.
Library CEO Dawn Kiddell tells Cornwall Newswatch construction crews ran into some trouble which meant the opening was pushed back to 3 p.m. and now 5 p.m.
In an update just before 5 p.m., Kiddell said they had to make the decision to close for the day.
The building can’t be open without water from a safety perspective because there is no working sprinkler system.
