CORNWALL – Whether it’s mental health, addictions or domestic violence, a one-stop directory for all community resources has been launched.
The Cornwall and Area Social Development Council launched the directory this morning during its AGM at the Benson Center.
It covers hundreds of organizations in Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry, the City of Cornwall and Akwesasne.

Executive Director Carilyne Hebert said the directory will be updated yearly with the help of a summer student.
The AGM also heard the agency ended the fiscal year with a $12,285 deficit, depleting its funding vehicle to $40,394 (from $52,679 the previous year). It’s cash flow was also reduced by $17,404 to $29,841 (cash was $47,245 at the beginning of the year).
The organization doesn’t have the $118,000 Ontario Trillium Grant that it did last year.
Hebert told Cornwall Newswatch they are able to run with a deficit or two or three years at most while they try to find other sources of funding.
The Social Development Council is largely run by a $60,000 grant from the City of Cornwall.
It provides or is a partner in a number of services and groups including Transition Cornwall+, Food Action Group, Tree Action Working Group, Waste Reduction Group, Project Warmth, Edible Cities Cornwall, Employability Network, Volunteer Hub and Vibrant Communities.
