CORNWALL – Boaters using the boat launch in Lamoureux Park behind the RCAF Wing now have to pay to park their trailer.
The city has installed pay-by-plate machines in the east lot, reserved for trucks and cars with boat trailers.
The west lot will still be free but is for trailer-less vehicles only.
The parking passes are $10 per day. The city will eventually have seasonal permits at $40 a month or $100 for the season, which runs from May 1 to Oct 31, but they’re not available at the moment.
The money collected from the boat launch parking lot will be used to make “boat launch improvements,” the city said.
Exactly what those improvements will be is not known, since taxpayers are already shelling out $80,000 this year from the city budget to replace the docks behind the RCAF Wing and at Guindon Park.
