CORNWALL – Two years after she was hired, Deb Stava is out as the dean of St. Lawrence College’s Cornwall campus, Cornwall Newswatch has learned.
Laura Tulchinsky with the college’s communications department, confirmed the announcement of the dean’s exit was made yesterday (Feb. 27).
Tulchinsky would not say why Stava has left. “It’s an HR matter and we don’t comment on that,” she said.
As for who is overseeing the college now, Tulchinsky said she didn’t have an answer today (Thursday) but “that (information) will be forthcoming.”
Deb Stava was hired in January 2016 from British Columbia, where she was the associate vice president of Northwest Community College in Terrace. At that time, she had over 25 years of post-secondary administration experience.
She took over for Don Fairweather, who retired in 2015.
According to Ontario’s Public Salary Disclosure, commonly referred to as the Sunshine List, Stava made $145,488 in 2017.
