CORNWALL – City councillor Glen Grant will be heading the Cornwall Police Services Board for 2019.

Grant was nominated at the beginning of the police board meeting Tuesday (Feb. 26) morning.

Provincial appointee Michel Payette was also named vice chairman.

There’s also a new board member. Martha Woods, executive director of the Eastern Ontario Training Board, was sworn in as a community board member. Her term will run the entire four years – mirroring the term of council.

One seat is still vacant on the board. One of two seats appointed by the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services has been vacant for nearly three years. It was last held by Pat Finucan.

Payette’s term runs until Jan. 30, 2022.
