CORNWALL – A nearly three month strike at a Cornwall grocery store is over, the United Food and Commercial Workers union announced Saturday night.

UFCW Local 1006A said its roughly 150 members at Baxtrom’s Your Independent Grocer voted in favour of the deal, which gives an immediate six per cent increase in wages or top rate part-time workers.

The contract is also for three years instead of six, meaning negotiations will start again in about a year-and-a-half, the union said.

The strike started on Nov. 23, 2018.
