SD&G – Two local agencies are asking for money to help with their programming in SD&G.
The St. Lawrence River Institute and Cornwall and The Counties Habitat for Humanity both made presentations to county council today (Monday).
Habitat, which builds homes for families in need, is asking for $1,500 toward their 2019 build.
County Coun. Steven Byvelds noted that Habitat’s request was “pretty small” compared to the work they do in the United Counties and suggested that maybe they ask for “a little more” in the future.
The St. Lawrence River Institute is asking for $10,000 to go toward their summer education camps for children and youth employment.
Both requests have been referred to the 2019 budget, which will be tackled in February.
