DALKEITH – A North Glengarry farm is getting a $20,000 grant to expand its hops production.

The Cornwall and The Counties Community Futures Development Corporation announced the money on Friday to allow Dalagra Farms to buy new pelletizing equipment.

Hops are manufactured into compressed pellets to be used for brewing beer.

The CDFC said the production expansion will also allow the farm to hire another employee and meet the under serviced processing, packaging and storing sector in the region.

Dalagra Farms on Glenelg Road handles hops, corn and soybeans – both for humans and animals – which is shipped throughout Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec as well as the U.S. and Asia.
