Overnight Cornwall winter parking ban starts tonight

(Newswatch Group/Bill Kingston, File)

CORNWALL – Make sure not to park on the street overnight tonight (early Saturday morning) in Cornwall.

That’s when a full winter overnight parking ban goes into effect from 1 a.m. until 7 a.m. on most city streets starting tomorrow (Dec. 15) regardless of the weather.

It’s slightly different for three areas: Pitt Street from Ninth to Water, Second Street from Augustus to Sydney and Montreal from Belmont to Gloucester. The restriction on those streets doesn’t kick in until 2 a.m.

Since Nov. 15, a ban would only be in place if there was an appreciable snowfall.

The winter parking restrictions are in effect until March 31, 2019.

The fine for parking overnight is $25.
