KEMPTVILLE – Provincial police have caught a suspect in connection to gas station thefts in North Glengarry and Kemptville — all because he had a lead foot.
Grenville County O.P.P. tracked and stopped a vehicle going up to 161 kilometers an hour on County Road 44, south of Kemptville, on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 20).
Police also learned the vehicle was stolen and the driver was drunk behind the wheel.
Officers arrested a 46-year-old Glengarry County man and charged him with possession of stolen property, impaired driving and theft.
He will appear in a Brockville court next month.
