Motorcyclist seriously injured in County Road 2 crash Friday

LONG SAULT – An update to a story Cornwall Newswatch first brought you Friday.

SD&G O.P.P. say a 25-year-old motorcycle rider was seriously injured Friday afternoon after a collision with a sport utility vehicle at Fran Laflamme Drive at the Lost Villages Museum.

He was taken to hospital in Ottawa by Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services.

Police believe he’s going to recover.

The SUV driver – a 59-year-old woman – was not injured in the crash.

South Stormont firefighters were on the scene shortly after 3:30 p.m. but were relieved as of 4:45 p.m.

Const. Tylor Copeland told CNW an investigation is ongoing in regard to any possible charges but, as of this afternoon (Monday), no charges had been laid.

A section of County Road 2 between Richmond Road and Avonmore Road was closed for about five hours.
