SD&G – Forecasters are keeping their eye on what’s left of Tropical Storm Gordon as it pushes into the Great Lakes region this weekend.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for SD&G Friday afternoon in anticipation the area could see 30-60 millimeters (1.18-2.36 inches) of rain on Monday.

What’s left of the storm is expected to reach southwestern Ontario on Sunday morning but not reach our area until Monday.

Higher amounts of rain are expected along the north shore of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.

Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall in the Gulf Coast on Tuesday, leaving thousands without power. A child was killed in the Florida Panhandle when a tree fell on a mobile home.
