WINCEHSTER – The Winchester District Memorial Hospital has been able to expand its heart examinations to include contrast and stress testing.
It’s due to an upgraded $150,000 echo cardiogram, which the hospital recently received.
The machine was identified last year as the number one upgrade needed, since the old machine was producing unclear images, leading to patients having to get additional tests at other hospitals.
The old machine was also less user-friendly, the hospital said.
The machine was paid for through various types of community donations to the General Equipment Fund.
An echo cardiogram uses sound waves to produce images of the heart.
