Byvelds wants back as South Dundas mayor

MORRISBURG – Former South Dundas Mayor Steven Byvelds wants to return as head of the municipal council.

Byvelds filed his nomination papers around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. He has held the positions of councillor, deputy mayor and mayor from 2006 to 2014.

Byvelds, who owns and operate Bycrest Farms near Williamsburg with his family, has called a news conference for 4 p.m. today (Monday) outside the South Dundas Municipal Center in Morrisburg.

So far, he has two challengers – incumbent mayor Evonne Delegarde and Coun. Marc St. Pierre.
