LANCASTER – South Glengarrians will be switching the weeks they put out garbage and recycling – all because of a colouring error.
It seems the waste collection calendar came back from the printers with a major misprint.
Now, people have been switched to the opposite weeks they would normally put out their trash bags and blue boxes. It doesn’t affect the day of the week for pickup though.
“The Township sincerely apologizes for this error and the confusion that will arise as a result,” Infrastructure GM Ewen MacDonald said in a statement.
The township plans to run with the calendar as is, which starts the first week of August.
It’s not known whether the municipality will fix the error next year or just run with this new schedule indefinitely.
