MORRISBURG – South Dundas Mayor Evonne Delegarde has made it official in her bid to be mayor of the municipality again.

“It’s official. I filed my nomination papers for mayor this morning,” Delegarde said in an email to Cornwall Newswatch on Thursday afternoon.

The news is somewhat lackluster as Delegarde already announced in mid-April she was intending to file her nomination papers “in late May” after returning from a family trip to Calgary.

Delegarde, an Iroquois native, has served nine years on council – these last four as mayor.

She will be up against Coun. Marc St. Pierre, who is also running for the top job.
