Bike-A-Thon, RCMP Musical Ride among weekend events

CORNWALL – It’s going to be a busy weekend with a couple of major events on Saturday.

The Children’s Treatment Center Bike-A-Thon Plus starts at 7:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence College on Montreal Road.

Hundreds will be doing various activities to raise money for the center, which provides support for children suffering from physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

The CTC is also holding its amateur boxing fundraising event – Boxing for Change – at the Civic Complex at 8:30 p.m.

There will be horses in Lamoureux Park at 2 p.m. as the RCMP Musical Ride makes a stop in the Seaway City.

Before that, also in the park, the annual mayor and council picnic starts at 11 a.m. This will be the second year for the picnic. The Optimist Club is partnering with council to host a barbecue.

At the Justice Building at 340 Pitt Street, the Incredible Edible Plant Festival goes tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:30 a.m.
