CORNWALL – More long term care beds are being added in the Cornwall area.

Local MPP Jim McDonell was at Parisien Manor in Cornwall this morning (Friday) to announce the Ontario government will be adding 95 new long term care beds.

The Southbridge Care Homes facility, on the corner of Second Street East and Marlborough Street North, currently has 65 long term care residents.

McDonell hopes that having more beds will allow more patients to get care close to home and will help with “relieving the pressure of long wait lists.”

Another announcement is being made at 3:45 p.m. today at Woodland Villa in Long Sault, which is run by Omni Health Care.
