CORNWALL – Cornwall police have charged two city men with various firearms-related offences after a fight on the weekend.
Police allege one man pointed a handgun at the other during the altercation on Saturday (April 28). It appears there was some sort of tussle for the weapon as police say the second man “was also in possession of the item (handgun) at some point in time.”
Mark Tyo, 33, was arrested and charged with breaching a probation order for possessing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Tyo was released with a promise to appear in court, May 31.
On Sunday (April 29), Robert Thibault, 34, was arrested during a traffic stop. A knife and some marijuana were found during that stop, police said.
He’s facing charges of pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of marijuana, two counts of breaching a probation order for having a firearm and failing to keep the peace, and a single count of breach of undertaking for having a weapon.
Thibault was held in custody for a bail hearing.
