CORNWALL – Cornwall Fire Services has received a $5,000 grant to help with spreading the message of fire prevention.

A representative from FM Global, a Rhode Island-based commercial property insurance company, presented members of the department with a plaque last week.

The fire department had submitted an application to the company and “stood out among the hundreds we received,” the company said in an email to Fire Chief Pierre Voisine.

The money is undoubtedly music to the ears of firefighters, so to speak.

In the past, Cornwall Fire Services has tapped into the chief’s musical ability to produce a couple of fire prevention music videos, which have circulated social media.
