CORNWALL – Hockey players from Sweden have arrived in Cornwall for a traditional exchange program with the Seaway Valley Rapids AA Minor Bantam teams.
The players, in their early teens, are from Kungalv – a city of 23,000 on the western coast of Sweden, about 500 kilometers southwest of Stockholm.
Each player is staying with a player from the Rapids team and have started practicing today (Wednesday). They will also be taking in a day of school in Cornwall and volunteering at the Agape Center.
It all leads up to the exhibition game on Friday (March 30) at 11 a.m. at the Benson Center.
The event is also a food raiser, as the Rapids will be collecting canned goods for the Agape Center.
The players will return to Sweden on Monday (April 2).
The Seaway Valley Rapids have taken part in the hockey exchange program for 12 years.
