Update: A man was injured in a stabbing at the location below.

CORNWALL – City police are saying little about an incident at the south end of McConnell Avenue involving some sort of weapon.

Acting Sgt. Daniel Doyon told Cornwall Newswatch they were investigating an “incident involving an edged weapon” in the 100 block of McConnell.

The home in question is on McConnell Avenue between Prince Albert Street and Lennox Street.

Police were called to the scene around 1:15 p.m. though no details are being released at this time as an investigation is ongoing.

Area residents say a forensics identification team and a number of police cruisers were on the scene most of the afternoon.

The scene has since been cleared by authorities.
