Three men wanted in Akwesasne home invasion

AKWESASNE – Warrants have been issued for three men after a violent home invasion in Akwesasne last weekend.

Akwesasne police say a man was beaten inside his home on Sunday (Feb. 11) but was able to escape his attackers and get to a neighbouring home where the police were called.

Officers noted a trail of blood leading up to the neighbour’s home as they arrived on scene to investigate.

Investigators learned three people had forced their way into the victim’s home early Sunday morning and hit him with weapons before he was able to escape.

The victim was treated at hospital for his wounds.

Three men in their 30s – two from Akwesasne and one from Cornwall – are facing charges of aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and uttering death threats.

The warrants for Corby Jock, Johnny Adams and Mitchell Jocko were issued by the provincial court in Valleyfield, Que.

Police Chief Shawn Dulude says this occurrence causes a real concern for community safety and he is hopeful that the public will continue to provide cooperation in such incidents.
