Police have lead in Akwesasne arena fire

AKWESASNE – Police are a step closer in their investigation of a fire last month at the Akwesasne arena.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service has identified a person of interest in the case.

A person of interest is somebody cops want to talk to, who may be information about the fire. Their information may lead police to a suspect.

No arrests been made as investigators continue their work.

The 3,000 seat facility, known as the Turtle Dome, on Cornwall Island has been closed since the Jan. 19 fire in the building’s locker room.

There were no injuries in the fire.
