CORNWALL – A four vehicle crash tied up afternoon traffic on Ninth Street in Cornwall late Monday afternoon.
Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services, Cornwall firefighters and Cornwall police were called to Ninth, east of York Street, just after 5 p.m.
Two SUVs and two pickup trucks were involved in the collision.
With all the extensive damage to the vehicles and airbags deployed in one of the pickups, miraculously no one was injured, according to Cornwall Fire Department Platoon Chief Steven O’Reilly.
A vehicle in front was trying to turn left when there was a chain reaction rear end crash, Const. Rodney DeGray told Cornwall Newswatch.
All the drivers were referred to the Collision Reporting Center.
As far as tickets, DeGray said none had been issued at the scene.
A section of Ninth Street was closed for eastbound traffic and was down to one lane for westbound traffic, until the scene was cleaned up by 6 p.m.
