CORNWALL – Three people have been charged after a drug bust where cocaine, marijuana and a loaded gun was seized.

City police officers with the Cornwall Street Crime Unit and Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT), along with local RCMP and a CBSA canine unit searched a home on Victoria Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

“It was the hard work of our members along with the assistance of RCMP and CBSA K9 that made the execution of these warrants a success,” Detective Sgt. Marc Bissonnette said.

Officers recovered Canadian and U.S. cash, cocaine, marijuana and a loaded 9 mm handgun.

While residents around Gloucester Street North and Victoria Avenue awoke to loud bangs, Const. Dan Cloutier told Cornwall Newswatch no shots were fired – the bangs were distraction devices.

Three men – aged 25, 26 and 42 – are facing various drugs and weapons related charges.
