CORNWALL – As people head to a large job fair at the Cornwall Civic Complex today, the prospects for finding that next job appear to be steady, according to Manpower.
The agency is out this week with its Employment Outlook Survey for October through December.
Of the city business asked, 17 per cent plan to hire, 7 per cent plan cutbacks and 70 per cent are staying with the status quo.
Six per cent were undecided.
The net employment outlook is a big jump of 10 per cent from the last quarter but down 6 per cent from the same period last year.
Manpower spokesman Lisa MacInnis told Cornwall Newswatch they are seeing an “uptick” in manufacturing production “which may lead to the hiring pace for Cornwall.”
