IROQUOIS – Ontario Power Generation is planning to raise the dam gates at the Iroquois Lock next week.
OPG says the gates for recreational boat passage at the dam will be open and available starting Wednesday (Sept. 13).
Even with the dam gates open, the water levels remain high and boaters are being reminded to be cautious.
As of Wednesday (Sept. 6), the outflows from Lake Ontario were 9,340 cubic meters per second. Normally, this time of year, they would be 7,560 cubic meters per second.
