TYOTOWN – An O.P.P. investigation is ongoing into a single vehicle crash on Purcell Road Tuesday night.
O.P.P. Acting Sergeant Angie Atkinson told Cornwall Newswatch the crash happened at the dead end of Purcell Road (which stops near the edge of Highway 401 – the end of the road and the freeway is separated by a stand of trees).
The vehicle was driven by a young man – 17 years old.
An 18-year-old woman was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.
Atkinson said their preliminary findings show the vehicle struck some sort of rock or a rock cut in the area.
“Both people were out of the vehicle but then the passenger had to be transported to hospital (by ambulance),” Atkinson said.
No other information was available, including the extent of their injuries or their condition.
So far, no charges have been laid.
