SD&G – The United Counties’ tourism sign management program has been recognized for its innovation.

The E.A. Danby Certificate of Merit was presented by a representative of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) during a brief ceremony Monday morning.

AMCTO President Yvonne Robert praised county council for putting the money and resources toward the SDG Tourism Information Sign Management Program.

The award is named after the first president of the AMCTO.

It was formally presented during the group’s conference last month in Huntsville, Ont.

The tourism information sign (TIS) program moved to an online application process, which includes geographic tagging for sign location selections and a drop-down menu process for filling out applications for the signs.
