ALEXANDRIA — Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP have identified the victim in Monday’s drop off and run incident at Glengarry Memorial Hospital in Alexandria.
Police responded to the hospital at 7:20 p.m. June 5th where the occupants of a white Honda Odyssey had dropped off a male, 29-year old Khanh Nguyen of Ottawa, suffering from life threatening “physical injury”, then fled the area.
Nguyen was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Five minutes after police responded to the hospital, police observed the vehicle travelling south on County Road 34, where the two male occupants were arrested and taken into custody.
Charged with second degree murder and production of a schedule two substance (marijuana) is Tri Minh Hoang, 61, from Montreal QC. Police had previously identified Hoang as being 57 years old.
In addition, 29-year old Anh Quang Nguyen from Ottawa was charged with accessory after the fact to murder, and production of a schedule two substance (marijuana).
The two accused men were remanded into custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall June 8th.
The SDG OPP Crime Unit are seeking any witnesses with information on this homicide and will be continuting the investigation of Detective Inspector Dan Nadeau of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
