Lancaster Tim Hortons evacuated after electrical fire

SOUTH LANCASTER – People trying to enjoy their morning cup of coffee had to be evacuated from a local Tim Hortons after an electrical fire.

South Glengarry firefighters from the South Lancaster and Williamstown stations were called to the coffee shop at 20345 Cannon Street around 5:30 a.m.

Fire Chief Dave Robertson tells CNW there was an electrical fire in an appliance which caused a slightly smoky situation in the building.

The business was evacuated as a precaution before firefighters arrived.

It’s not known how many people were inside the building at the time.

The store has since reopened and returned to normal operations.
