CORNWALL – With close to 270 teams registered, Cornwall’s Spring Cleanup Week had got off to a strong start.

A number of residents braved the cool weather Saturday for the kickoff at the municipal parking lot next to the Montreal Road police station.

The city provides cleaning supplies for the teams.

β€œIt’s a wonderful thing to see residents of all ages come together to take part in this great event,” Waste Management Supervisor Danielle Watson said.

The city has dumpsters placed in five locations in the city (George Assaly Lane, Eco Garden on Race Street, Port Theater parking lot, Montreal Road next to the police station and Mattice Park).

The cleanup week runs through Friday.
