Man killed in CR31 collision with tanker truck

WINCHESTER SPRINGS – A man has been killed in a head-on crash between a car and a tanker truck on County Road 31.

Provincial police say a southbound Mini Cooper crossed the center line and collided with a milk tanker, north of the village, just before 1 p.m.

The driver of the car – the only person in the vehicle – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The trucker was not injured.

The name of the victim is being withheld until relatives are notified, SD&G O.P.P. said.

A section of County Road 31 between Nesbitt Road and Hollister Road remains closed to traffic (as of 3:30 p.m.). Detours are in place.

Investigators are trying to figure out why the car crossed the center line.
