SD&G – A long period of freezing rain is expected to hit SD&G tonight (Monday), according to forecasters with Environment Canada.

The weather agency issued a freezing rain warning as a “long-lasting period” of freezing rain is expected to start this afternoon and continue through the night.

Up to 10 millimeters (0.4 inches) of ice is expected to accumulate.

The agency says surfaces like highways, roads and sidewalks will become icy, slippery and hazardous tonight before the freezing rain changes to rain early Tuesday morning.
